Thawing of frozen blood plasma in five minutes

Rapid access of blood plasma is vital for patients that are bleeding heavily due to trauma or surgery. Currently, physicians need to wait for 20-40 minutes to receive useable blood plasma. The Antrad UFT100 provides two bags of thawed, ready to use blood plasma in only five minutes. The Antrad UFT100 is designed so that two units can be stacked on top of one another – giving 4 bags of thawed plasma in five minutes with minimal space requirements.

Safe and easy to use

Open the hatch – place the frozen blood plasma bag in the Antrad Thawing Cassette – close the hatch, then push the start button. The remaining thawing time is clearly displayed. The Antrad UFT100 unit calculates the exact thawing time and measures the temperature of the blood plasma. The Antrad UFT100 signals when the plasma is ready.

Dry & Hygienic

The Antrad UFT100 does not use warm water for thawing, which means there is no risk for bacterial contamination.

Blood Plasma leakage – no longer an issue

The Antrad Cassette is designed to collect any potential leakage of blood plasma from broken or damaged bags. If leakage should occur, simply replace the Antrad Thawing Cassette – no time consuming or unhygienic cleaning necessary.

Number of plasma bags for thawing

The Antrad UFT100 is able to perform Ultra Fast thawing of one or two frozen blood plasma bags at a time per unit. Units are designed to be placed on top of each other to create a thawing station for up to four plasma bags in parallel. Several stations can also easily be installed for larger volumes.

Frozen blood plasma bag size

The Antrad UFT100 supports Ultra-Fast thawing of frozen blood plasma bags of standard size and shape with a volume from 180 ml to 300 ml.

Frozen blood plasma start temperature

The Antrad UFT100 is able to perform Ultra-Fast thawing of frozen blood plasma bags with a surface temperature of -80C to – 5C.

The Antrad Thawing Cassette

  • The prime purpose of the patented Antrad Thawing Cassette design is to equalize the electrical field that the blood plasma bag is subjected to in the Antrad UFT thawing process.
  • The Antrad Thawing Cassette is replaced after one month of normal usage or when the cassette has been subjected to blood plasma leakage.
  • The Antrad UFT100 and the Antrad Thawing Cassettes are easy to clean and disinfect using normal hospital and blood bank cleaning routines.

Dimensions and installation

  • Width700 mm, height 400 mm, depth 700 mm and weight 25 kg.
  • Maximum power consumption for the Antrad UFT100 is 2400 W and it can be connected to regular single phase 110 or 230 volts power supplies.
  • The Antrad UFT 100 operates in normal room temperature. The installation and service can be   easily performed using existing blood bank personnel.
